In English 4, students explore a series of literary pieces and to analyze the political, social, economic, and cultural messages of the times they were written, as well as their relevance to today. The works presented span thousands of years and have been written by Old Testament, New Testament, and modern authors who share common ideas but employ a variety of literary genres to express their views. Whether it’s the dramatic ending of a play or a colorful verse of modern or Old Testament poetry, these authors’ words leave students with a broader understanding of the world.
