Frequently Asked Questions
What sets us apart
The foundation of a Sevenstar Education is built on intentionally crafted courses taught by solidly vetted instructors. But those courses are of little use if they aren’t accessible to the schools and families who need them.
This is where Sevenstar shines. With experts trained to walk both schools and families through the process, you can build a solid course structure that meets your unique needs and ensures a quality education for your students.
Sevenstar offers high-quality online courses sourced from award-winning providers like Florida Virtual School and eDynamic. Every course is reviewed and modified by our team to meet biblical integration standards. Courses are updated live as needed, with major revisions occurring every 1–5 years.
Courses include a variety of engaging assignments such as projects, presentations, essays, labs, and discussions. Assessments are randomized using question banks, and instructors conduct one-on-one discussions to ensure academic integrity. Semester exams require a designated proctor.
Yes. All core academic courses are NCAA and UC approved. AP® courses are approved by College Board®. Credit recovery courses are not NCAA eligible. Please review our course offerings list to view specific course approvals.
Yes. Schools can request access to demo courses, which include full content minus assessments, and may share these demos with students and families.
Custom partners using their own teachers can reorganize, add to, or remove course content. Direct partners may not alter course materials.
Yes. Many core high school courses are available for credit recovery, and all 1-credit courses may be ordered as single semesters.
Dual credit courses are delivered on the university’s platform. Sevenstar facilitates the setup and high school credit reporting, but schools will not have access to progress tracking during the course.
Sevenstar courses and grading are done by semester. Schools needing quarterly grades for report cards may either indicate “in progress” for online courses or use the student’s current grade in the course to put on their report cards.
Sevenstar instructors are certified, professing Christians who facilitate courses by grading, giving feedback, and supporting students. They do not lecture but provide personalized support and regular communication.
Yes. Schools using their own teachers receive tuition discounts. A one-time $125 setup/training fee applies per teacher. Schools are responsible for compensating their own instructors and determining their qualifications.
Courses are asynchronous and available 24/7 once started. Some courses include recorded lessons, but there are no required live sessions. Students must regularly engage with instructors in live, one-on-one meetings throughout the course.
Students may begin courses any Monday. They can work at an accelerated pace, with a minimum duration of 6 weeks for 0.5-credit and 12 weeks for 1.0-credit courses.
Schools will order the dual credit courses through Sevenstar, and we take care of the details of working with the partnering universities. All coursework for dual credit is completed on the university’s technology platforms, not Sevenstar’s, so schools cannot view students’ courses and grades or monitor progress in the SIS and LMS for these courses. When the course is complete, the student will receive their final grade from the university for the college credit, and Sevenstar can issue the high school credit on a transcript.
We use Buzz (LMS by Agilix) and a custom student information system (SIS). Parents receive SIS access to monitor grades and progress. They do not access the LMS but may view the gradebook through their student’s login.
Students need a computer or mobile device with a reliable internet connection. A wired connection is recommended for quizzes and exams. Devices must support standard file saving and meet minimum operating system requirements.
We support schools in setting up the necessary infrastructure—devices, internet access, and physical space if students are on campus. Our team is available to train new staff and discuss program goals or changes.
Designated school staff can enroll students, order courses, and track progress in the SIS. Additional users can be added through a simple request form.
Once a course is complete, Sevenstar provides grade reports for your school to include in report cards and transcripts. For dual credit, final grades are issued by the university.
Yes. Students located overseas can access courses as long as they have strong English proficiency and reliable internet.
Sevenstar provides AP® courses but does not administer the AP® exam. Schools are responsible for arranging test registration and proctoring.
