About Kyiv Christian Academy
Founded in 1993, Kyiv Christian Academy (KCA) is a private, international K–12 school located in Kyiv, Ukraine. Rooted in a Biblical worldview, KCA exists to help fulfill the Great Commission by partnering with missionary families to offer quality, English-language education. With a vision that every student would have a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ and be equipped to pursue their God-given calling, KCA stands as both an academic institution and a faith-centered community.
KCA is accredited by both the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), and it has long maintained a reputation for academic excellence. Its graduates have been accepted to prestigious universities including Yale, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, and Wheaton College.
Most families in the KCA community are missionaries, alongside Ukrainian and international professionals and embassy staff. KCA is an interdenominational Christian school committed to cultural sensitivity, gospel proclamation, and nurturing students through godly leadership and a secure learning environment.
Challenge: Rebuilding After a Crisis
After suspending its program during the 2022–23 school year due to the full-scale Russian invasion, KCA reopened its doors in August 2023—determined to reestablish its educational mission amid ongoing uncertainty.
Initially able to serve grades Pre-K through 6, the school faced a significant challenge in expanding to middle and high school: a shortage of qualified, in-person teachers willing and able to relocate to Kyiv. This made it difficult to provide a full secondary program for returning and new families.

Solution: A Transformative Partnership with Sevenstar Academy
To meet the need and fulfill its mission, KCA launched a strategic partnership with Sevenstar—a global leader in online Christian education. Together, they implemented a blended learning model that combined in-person structure with virtual instruction, allowing the school to grow its program in a sustainable and mission-aligned way.
Key Elements of the Solution:
- On-Site Supervision: Local teachers and staff provided classroom management, learning support, and spiritual encouragement.
- Online Learning Through Sevenstar: Students accessed core academic content through Sevenstar’s accredited platform, taught by certified Christian educators.
- Flexible Learning Spaces: Students gathered in a shared classroom to work on laptops and moved to quiet rooms for one-on-one assessments and discussions.
- Ongoing Support: Staff monitored progress, ensured accountability, and provided personalized help to meet each student’s needs.
Eric M., Director“This partnership with Sevenstar Academy is what made our program possible and viable for the families that desire to be in Kyiv. Even though we couldn’t staff the full program, Sevenstar came alongside us, believing in the value of our school and helping us stay open to serve. I’m just really thankful.”

Results: Growth, Community, and Continuity
- Enrollment Growth: KCA expanded from 10 students in 2023 to 35 students in middle and high school during the 2024–25 school year.
- Educational Continuity: The partnership made it possible to offer a complete core curriculum through 10th grade, despite the inability to fully staff every subject locally.
- Student Community: While learning online, students shared physical space, enabling social connection, peer encouragement, and the development of a vibrant school culture.
- Mission Fulfillment: The school remained open and faithful to its purpose, continuing to serve missionary and Ukrainian families with Christ-centered education in a time of global instability.
Conclusion: Strength Through Partnership
The partnership between Kyiv Christian Academy and Sevenstar Academy is a powerful example of what’s possible when Christian organizations work together with purpose. By blending physical presence with digital resources, KCA has rebuilt its secondary program and continued to be a light in the heart of Ukraine—proclaiming truth, cultivating community, and equipping students for the glory of God.
