Available Courses

English / Language Arts

The elementary English language arts (ELA) courses provide students with a rigorous and comprehensive study of foundational reading skills and comprehension strategies, writing, grammar, and speaking and listening skills. These courses introduce students to God’s love and commandments through Bible stories and short, direct studies of select Bible verses. Students learn the purpose of God’s Word and explore various Bible translations as they study specific Bible verses.

Mathematics

The elementary math courses inspire students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers who recognize the importance of God’s guidance for solving problems in all areas of life. Learners use math as a tool to make sense of and understand the world around them. Students are taught to identify the patterns of God’s creation, as well as biblical patterns for living.

Science

The elementary science courses spark curiosity in students and build a solid foundation in concepts across many types of sciences, including earth science, life science, and physical science, while establishing God as both the creator and the sustainer of all creation. A framework of active student learning supports and allows students to explore biblical topics such as the characteristics of Christian life, God’s provision for earthly needs, the Ten Commandments, and God’s creativity and intimacy in the design of human beings.

Social Studies

The elementary social studies courses help students to develop a firm understanding of important concepts and skills related to history, geography, and economics, as well as explore and appreciate the diversity of God’s people. Students learn how to treat others with kindness and love, biblical commands to take care of the poor and needy, and the relationship between freedom and responsibility.

Technology

The elementary technology courses will expose students, within developmentally appropriate stages, to concepts such as problem solving and algorithms, security/ privacy/copyright, computer programming basics, and keyboarding skills. Students also explore biblical perspectives on technology and social media and learn how to honor God in these areas. The technology suite integrates standards from health and language arts with topics about safety and health, bullying/cyberbullying, and how being Christlike can help students to be responsible digital citizens.

Mathematics

Middle school math takes a practical approach to math concepts, teaching students how math applies to real world applications. This approach not only allows students to understand the usefulness of mathematical concepts but also teaches them to better appreciate God’s world based on their growing understanding of how math serves as the foundation of many concepts throughout creation.

Science

Middle school students will process through a solid overview of science with the three-course middle school science system. Each course processes through concepts in physical, life, and earth-space science, with all concepts being viewed through a Christian worldview. Scientific theories, including both creationism and evolution, are explored, helping students learn how to process through and differentiate between concepts.

Bible

Designed to be completed in any order, middle school Bible courses provide an overview of biblical literacy and interpretation, an exploration of the life of Christ, and an introduction to apologetics. These practical courses help students learn how to process the Bible, apply its teaching to their own lives, and present what has been learned through writing and discussion.

History / Social Studies

During the middle school years, students get to hone in on three targeted areas of study: ancient history, US history, and civics. Each course encourages middle schoolers to look at how God has been active in history and how they can learn from that activity and respond as good citizens in their communities, nation, and world today.

World Languages

Middle school language learning is all about Spanish! Students not only have the opportunity to begin to learn how to listen to, read, and speak Spanish, they will also explore the great cultural diversity found among Spanish-speaking people groups around the world. All of the language and cultural training are grounded in a spiritual growth context as well.
